Keith narrates part of it, Johnny Depp narrates some, and some guy who sounds a lot like Keith narrates some and, man, it is like he is in the car talking to you. _________________ Other vegetables have a hard time competing with potatoes.

I look forward to the audio book, if, for nothing else,
because I have been listening to the Stones longer than any other band in my life.
They've been making music my entire life (and longer).
This being about KR, I must discuss one of his songs:
This song goes on and on (...and on and on...and on and on...
and on and on...and on and on...and on and on...and on and on...)
If it has another title, it's lost on me to the refrain.
In his (audio) book, does he explain why he made such a crap song?
Just wondering.
I imagine it was the convergence of many things,
a long life with less and less excitement in old age,
the effects of countless drug habits differing only in their time duration,
the pressure for him to write his 2-3 songs per album, and sing them,
his bad boy, I snorted my father's ashes with coke, image,
<add your own here>.
Or he wrote it to just plain suck, because it does suck,
and a guy with his talent could have done something better.
Or, am I wrong, and was that tune really good and I missed its appeal? _________________ You give us what we want in a week, or we beat the hell out of you and take it anyway.

He talks a lot about song writing but I don't recall a discussion of that one specifically. _________________ Other vegetables have a hard time competing with potatoes.

Is that an actual Stones (or Richards solo) song? I don't recall it, in the book or in their repertoire.
In any case, Richards says more than enough about song writing, his history and the process, for me to say that he hardly considers all the things that he's created to be masterpieces. Also, plenty of what he wrote was done on the fly, and sometimes hastily (i.e. whole songs written in the studio, on the same day they were recorded); it testifies to his genius that some of the band's best work was so haphazard and spontaneous.
