Found it for $0.99 so I dl'ed it. 10% through so far. Very intriguing. Any book about the devil walking amongst us is something worth checking out.
I'm a big fan of Ishmael by Quinn, and also A Fool's Progress by Abbey (was my favorite book for a long time).
I put the Trial by Kafka because it's kind of a sleeper. I don't think most people finish it, which is sort of the point. It is truly beautiful art.
Another French, existential novel I absolutely love is Man's Fate by Andre Malraux, a lesser known literary figure from the era. That man had amazing talent to create a scene! _________________ "To me Plastic boots are kind of like a condom on the experience." -light skier-

The devil walking amongst us? Sounds like Carl's wet dream.
In fact, I wish someone could publish a compilation of everything Carl ever wrote, as that would probably be so much better than all the shtty books listed in this thread. It's a shame that such unmitigated genius as Carl's will probably be known only to a few TTippers.
But seriously, it's too hard to mention just one. One I happen to be reading now is Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. So far it's spectacular. |

I liked The Screwtape Letters and Letters From the Earth. I might need to look into this.

A triumph of literary gigantism in serious need of an editor.

Stunning as it may be, this thread is even more pretentious than our regularly scheduled obscure music threads.
Congratulations all.
