It appears that Talisker Ted & Co. sent out a press release to all of the major news outlets and many of them, including the hard-hitting (<--- joke) Park City Park Record reprinted it verbatum, complete with exclamation points.

But where does Maynard the aspiring politico stand on this? The world is waiting for him to take a stand. Wink

I heard about this proposal a year ago when Talisker bought the Canyons. I think as others have said damaging to the experience of the Crest Trail and surrounds and I agree. I don't think it would be long before they would want to open lifts down Bear Trap. I use the 9990 exit to get to the backcountry in Big Cottonwood Canyon and sure don't want to be looking at tram or chairlift. It is hard enough to find solitude today.

One positive, you would have night skiing out of your ass at the Canyons. The place would have to be lit-up like a Christmas tree to handle the returns. Patrol would be starting the final sweep at 1 AM. Sweet.

UTA should learn how to run a bus service and it would all be resolved. All of us would lose out. It is just another ponzi scheme.

Just because they claim it is a transportation solution doesn't mean it is. I don't expect Talisker and Solitude have just gotten religion and committed themselves to serving the public good.

It's the one right below Brighton. It used to be small, but with the big village and stuff, can't miss it now.

Parking along the roadway begins just after Silver Fork.

They seemed to have overlooked the fact that during the summer, the terminus of this "transporation" will be blocked by a locked, guarded gate and a few miles of private road. Private property - Colony Homeowners only. But who knows - maybe they will open those roads to the public, put in a huge Park & Ride and make the tram free for everyone (<--- sarcastic joke in case you missed it.)

Funny they banned parking below Silver Fork along much of the roadway this year, too much trouble plowing around those pesky free-for-ski backcountry rats.

Incredibly, If we could ban biling and build a connect along the guard road alignment between Silver Lake DV /Brighton I'd be for it. DV would be a great snowboard mountian....
Oh wait I just woke up.

Pondo is on to something.

Have enjoyed riding Telluride's free gondola many times & enjoy not having to drive there.

But the Ted Wilson pc to bcc alignment sucks.

Is there an alignment, like mentioned above, that could work?

Dont worry ya'll the US economy will collapse and there won't be enough money for all these Wasatch expansions....Maybe the 1%ers (Talisker) will build it anyways though....who know?

Telluride's free gondola was a traffic mitigation measure that was required by local P&Z. It would not have been free if it were not used to offset VMTs

Utards dont have these restrictions at all.
