This post is long overdue...and IMO these links deserve their own thread. I put it in the main forum for more attention and because the Dead really does have something to do with skiing...
If you go here:
http://www.archive.org/details/GratefulDead
You will find every GD show ever recorded, available for download or streaming. In the middle of the page there's a link to
'Grateful Dead Shows on This Day in History'.
It's shown to be a fun exercise to delve deeply into the Grateful Dead catalog over the years and explore some new music. Heck, we even have an engineer who is graphing his trip through the catalog. See here on page 4:
http://telemarktalk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=77353&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45
Anyway, feel free to dig in and post your findings here.
August 5 delivers a great show from '89:

Opening with One More Saturday Night?
I never had a bad time at Cal Expo. Sacramento always delivered on so many levels.

A rare day we have here indeed... No shows at all.... A moment of silence.
I slipped back a few days into the weekend since I missed 8/6-8/8 while out of town and gave a listen to 8/6/82 and 8/8/82. I'm really liking this summer of 82 tour, enjoyed 8/3, 8/4, 8/6, and 8/8 thus far. _________________ Freelance Binding R&D |

Checked out some cool scenery from Big Sur to "Cougar" Hot Springs and points between during the break. _________________

Brent had some great music. I still don't like him. However, there but for a twist of fate go us all. _________________

Those shows were a freaking blast. Man. Those were the days. I still can't remember which night I got in and which nights I listened from the tennis courts. Maybe I saw the first night, maybe it was the last... _________________

Looking at the set list, I do believe it was 8/19 that I saw. But who knows... If you saw me there, please let me know. _________________
