My 2 cents worth. Wowsatch, PNW, Colorado, its all snow and it always varies. If you like a 189 K2 Pontoon try a 191 Voile Charger. Great ski with the perfect match of width for float without being too fat. You should demo a pair. Very light for the performance they have. I have been trying the 181 Charger and it just seems to just get better with each different condition I encounter. The wider you go the more carpet you drag uphill and carry down . The Charger could be the perfect balance of all things considered. OK maybe more than 2 cents worth......

I was going to put in a vote for my all-time favorite Wasatch BC ski, but got shamed out of it after seeing so much phat luv here. On second thought, the 'watts should be perfect.

Appreciate all the input. After reading what everyone has to say, I'm leaning towards the Voile line. I'm thinking the Charger or Drifter would be really great. Going to try and demo both of them and see if I want the extra size of the Drifter. The Charger sounds like a great option at 112 underfoot in the 181 length. Or maybe I'll just hold onto my Tonics and get the Drifter so I'll have the 100 underfoot Tonic when the snowpack calls for something less than 125 underfoot.

Keep the input/ideas coming!

hamish,
I just bought a pair of Manhattans, to complement (replace?) my Tonics. Hope they aren't too heavy for the up...I like the Tonics, for the light weight Cool

I have a friend who recently bought the Charger and I must say watching him ski them is pretty convincing.

I just got my Pontoons out in bottomless snow for the first time last week and am still processing the experience.

Untracked was beautiful, almost too easy, but crud busting wasn't as good as I thought it might be.

I was looking seriously at the Drifter earlier this season and prolly would have pulled the trigger if I had the $$$.

Keep us informed with what you pick.

I only ski tour but, been skiing the Charger with next year's top sheet and the switchback x2 with proto 20% more active springs.
About 30 days on um.
New top sheets apparently make the ski a little stiffer.
Sweet set up.
That said...

Drifters today. Wink

I too ski LCC about 3-5 times a week.

I have really been liking the 191 Voile Charger I have mounted with Axls for untracked days. Good shape, light, awesome early rise tip, and local. (114ish mm waist)

For inbounds skis that you can push hard on I love my 192 BD Zealots with Hammerheads for anything over 8" of fresh. (110mm waist)

Anything less than that I spend on my Coreupt Adrien Courier 191's with Hammerheads (102mm waist)

those skis in your avatar may be the new skinny but they are 'fat', (although not phat), of course how fat does one want a ski to be when jump turning down narrow chutes, not to mention icy narrow chutes.Wink
From Mountain Surfs to Drifters, Voile has always seemed to be at the forefront of what ski performs well in the Wasatch powder.
