It was a great day! We had some freshies deposited overnight so while the course was a little slower it was fun to ride the berms! The jump was lots of fun but a little smaller than last year, and the rest of the course was tight and smooth. No judging on bootspace or jump, just combo times after 2 runs.
Haberle showed up and took third in expert mens. Moats wasn't there, and Cory S. is training in scando-land. Still though there was a field of very skilled skiers and it made for a fun competition.
The raffle was awesome - K2 skis, G3 skis, many pair of leki poles, ntn bindings, helmet, gift certs, kids tele boots, and much, much more. Somehow I walked away with the helmet, a dinner for 2 gift cert, and the kids boots (size 22.5 and for sale BTW).
Results-
Time is the Combo Time
Expert Men -
1 Michael Caldwell - 2:15.84
2 Doug Munro - 2:22.54
3 Mark Haberle - 2:22.86
Expert Women -
1 Julie Brown - 2:43.16
2 Carolyn Stone - 3:06.87
3 Natalie Stein - 3:13.32
Citizens Men -
1 Grey Wartinger - 2:28.81
2 Tom Hoffman - 2:43.68
3 Jim Wachala - 2:52.23
Citizens Women -
1 Hannah Smith - 3:51.77
2 Jennifer Kelley - 3:57.16
3 Cecily Ziegler - 4:14.83
Old Citizens Men -
1 Bob Tutwiler - 2:52.15
2 Lyons Witten - 2:55.86
3 Sam Galota - 3:02.74
Old Citizens Women -
1 Anita Rosencrantz - 3:41.56
2 Val Johnson - 5:01.09
3 Laura Fitch - 6:06.39
Youth -
1 Autumn Hausthor - 3:27.75
2 Beatrce Smith - 3:51.31
Big props to Gunnar J, and Grahme M for finishing 4th, and 6th respectively in the expert men's category... AND for taking me to the goods in the afternoon. Thank you! _________________ Save skiing Free the heel

Thank you!
I had a good first run, and thought i could push harder on the second. I had too much speed off of the jump and going around the uphill bank turn I stepped on my pole and fell over! Facing the wrong direction and laying on my side ... i tried to stay calm and got up and skated back across and finished my run.
First run - 1:04.94 , second - 1:10.90
I hope to be back next year! _________________ Save skiing Free the heel

For the race categories -- what differentiates "Experts" vs. "Citizens" . . . I came here to find the results for my wife who raced (first tele race ever) but I think she put herself in the experts category. Oops.
Anywho, nice stoke out there Sunday. Bromley was in rare form all weekend. Felt kind of bad for you racers stuck at the start when the freeskiing all over the mountain was as good as I can remember on a weekend.
That looked like fun on Sunday. I hadn't been back here at T-Tips in years, since I bolted back to the dark side 2 years ago after 8 years exclusively tele. Had some fun on Sunday on tele-gear for the first time since -- but those tele turns seemed hard to remember. |

Magnut- what is your wife's name?
I picked up a result sheet at the after party. I'm too lazy to type all the finishers. _________________ Save skiing Free the heel
